A Peconic man was arrested for DWI after he struck a LIPA pole in Cutchogue early Monday morning, Southold Town police said.
Elogario Pirir Chamale, 37, was traveling on Route 25 at 12:45 a.m. when he was involved in the single-car crash, police said. No injuries have been reported.
Mr. Pirir Chamale failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license, police said.
He was held at police headquarters for a morning arraignment, according to the report.
