N.Y. Times: Anna Lou Dehavenon, Who Drew Attention to the Homeless, Dies at 85

Anna Lou Dehavenon rebuilt her life after her husband was killed in a plane crash and went on to earn a Ph.D. in anthropology, becoming a respected authority on poverty, hunger and homelessness in New York City, The New York Times reported Wednesday. She died at 85 on Tuesday at a nursing home in Greenport, her son David Kapell told the Times.
