North Fork residents can expect light to moderate snow on their Monday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook was issued Sunday by the NWS for southeast New York, southern Connecticut and northeast New Jersey, rain or snow will begin falling in New York City and Long Island late tonight before changing to all snow Monday morning.
The snowfall is expected to be light, but could reach warning levels, the NWS said.
It’s a storm moving from the western flanks of the Appalachian Mountains and into the Mid-Atlantic coast that weather officials say could cause serious weather conditions later this week, including “significant” amounts of snow, sleet and freezing rain.
That storm is expected to pass south of Long Island on Wednesday, officials said.
