Joel Elliot Kobrin of Mattituck died Aug. 18, 2013. He was 66 years old.
He was born March 5, 1947, in Brooklyn to Herb and Kitty Kobrin and worked as a cabinetmaker in Brooklyn. He also owned Majestic Cabinets in Babylon.
Mr. Kobrin moved to Mattituck in 1994 with his life partner, Lynn Harpell. Together, they opened Peddlers Rest Antiques in 1995 and, more recently, made frames for custom framing.
In addition to Ms. Harpell, he is survived by his son, Josh (Lily), and their children, Brian, Liz and Sophie; his stepdaughter, Kim (Jerry) Kinnaird and their daughter, Lillian; and his sister, Barbara (Ron), and their son, Danny.
Cremation was private.
