Craig M. Dolan passed away Friday, May 24, 2013, at home in Sarasota, Fla.
He was born May 11, 1957, to Harry and Barbara Dolan. Craig grew up on Nassau Point in Cutchogue, N.Y., where he discovered his passion for being on the water and his love of the outdoors.
Craig married Debra Sacks Robins on Feb. 19, 1985, and became the proud parent of two little girls, Kate and Carolynne. Craig shared fun-filled adventures with his girls from elementary school to college and beyond, cherishing every step along the way.
Craig and Debbie moved to Sarasota, where they started their business, Dolan Transportation. They shared years of traveling the country together and enjoying all life had to offer.
Surviving are his wife, Debbie; his children, Kate and her husband, Dave Fohrkolb, and Carolynne Harvey; his beloved grandchildren, Davey, Lizzie and Christine; his mother-in-law, Patricia Sacks; his father, Harry; and his brother, Keith. His mother, Barbara, and his father-in-law, Arnie Sacks, predeceased him.
“The world lost an amazing man today, that man was Craig Dolan. He taught us to dream big and never give up. He’d give you the shirt off his back, even if it was his last one. He was a gentle soul and spectacular ‘Gampy’, as his firstborn grandchild would call him. He left a mark in this world and will be greatly missed. See you in the sunsets fishing ‘Craiger.’ ”
Funeral arrangements, entrusted to DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, are pending his return to Cutchogue. His final resting place will be in New Bethany Cemetery in Mattituck.
