The Suffolk School Library Media Association honored a pair of Mattituck-Cutchogue School District educators April 2 for their roles in supporting teachers and students.

Assistant superintendent and Cutchogue Elementary School principal Anne Smith was named Outstanding Administrator for supporting the district’s library programs by providing professional development opportunities for teachers to help them promote collaboration between classrooms and the libraries.

The district’s library media specialist Sarah Wasser was also honored and she won the Outstanding Technology Application award for her work at the junior and senior high schools. An example of Ms. Wasser’s accomplishments includes teaching students how to create Lewis and Clark informationational videos by using flip cameras and linking the video with QR codes.
